Experiments

Lately, I have started some experiments in the crypto area.  I discover that one of my passions is playing with these models and concepts. I think they are good exercises to develop creativity, to extend the limits of spatial thinking and to play with new technologies like parametric architecture.  So, I decided to give them a separate section. The Innovation in Architecture – An Incomplete Study of the Pritzker Prize Laureates.

In 2013 I graduated the university of architecture in Strasbourg (ENSAS) with a diploma formed by 2 parts.  The first part is a written one, consisting in a subject of choice.  The subject that I have chosen is about the Pritzker Prize Laureates. With the help of mr. Frederik Luckel, the professor who supervised the work, we put together a method for a consistent analysis of the Pritzker Prize Laureates and why did they win the prizes.  The scope of the work was to find commonalities between them.  At the end those commonalities are obvious.

The study starts from the first year of existence of the Pritzker Prize and stops in 2012.  I am publishing this study here because of 2 reasons:  I think that it is interesting and useful, and I intend to continue it.  In that pursuit I am looking for some else who is passionate about the subject and who wants to team with me to enlarge the study. Urban proposal for the Bucharest 2000 area

This is my second part of the diploma graduated in Strasbourg.  Although it is only an exercise done by a student, I consider it to be useful for other professionals and for the public.  The first thing that I have to say about the area is that I consider it to be the most important urban area in Romania.  After all it is the center of Bucharest.  The area was the subject of an urban competition held in 1996 (Bucharest 2000).  I consider the winning proposal to be the best at the era.  But the area evolved since then, so I don’t think that the proposal is still valid.

By posting this work here I am trying to raise awareness about the subject. I think that every professional and student in Romania must at least think about the area.  Also, if somebody is interested, I can provide the 3d models, the *.dwg files and some other part of my work.  After all, I think that was an impressive amount of work.
